The Leila Texts is a blog by a woman named Leila who, thanks to a glitch in Verizon’s network, receives dozens of text messages intended for other Leilas in the Verizon network. She posts them to her blog along with some of her own personal insight, often cluing in the reader when she gets several messages from the same number. I love the unintended voyeurism of the situation. Here is a sample:

from a 916 phone number, Thursday, February 7, 12:27 AM

Whoa, what’s on Mackenzie’s MySpace? Some posting about Disney on ice? If Mackenzie is young enough to need to be taken to Disney on ice, isn’t she also too young to have a MySpace account? I mean, there are internet pedophiles out there. Don’t you ever read the newspaper?

The Leila Texts (Los Mensajes para Leila) es un blog de una mujer llamada Leila quien, gracias a un error en la red de Verizon, recibe docenas de mensajes de texto a su celular dirigidos a otras mujeres llamadas Leila que también usan Verizon. Leila las sube a su blog y comenta sobre ellas, incluso cuando aplica diciéndole al lector cuando obtiene varios mensajes de un mismo número. Me encanta el voyeurismo inintencionado de la situación. Este es un ejemplo:

Que hay en el MySpace de Mackenzie? Algo acerca de Disney on ice? Si Mackenzie es lo suficientemente joven para que la lleven a Disney on ice, no es también demasiado joven para tener una cuenta de MySpace? Digo, hay pedófilos en internet. No leen los periódicos?
