Although the physical exhibition at the New Museum is over, the online section of the exhibition is still available, showcasing online projects by 14 different artists.

New York-based, Swiss-born artist Olaf Breuning has one of the quirkiest websites I have seen in a while. His work is excellent, too, he was recently included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial. I especially enjoy his Chinatown sculptures, made with a variety of objects found in one of New York’s most notorious neighborhoods.

Fine artist Kittiwat Unarrom, son of a baker, shows such influence with Body Bakery offering body parts made entirely out of bread but that resemble dismembered bodies. If you overcome nausea, you’ll be impressed by the sculptural skills of the artist since these really really look like dead bodies. The footage shows the bakery at a gallery and includes a brief introduction of how the artist works. Provecho.
A project where four different artists randomly interchanged a sketchbook among them for nine months. When one of them received it, an entry was made and was sent off to the next artist. Two of the artists reside in New York City and the other two in Belfast, Ireland. The book remained the only means of communication between them during the duration of the project. Nevertheless, when the project ended the artists met and discussed what each entry meant and how it was interpreted by the rest. The artists commentary during such discussion is included with the image of each entry.

Studio 360 is a Public Radio show which interviews artists, writers and musicians, updating with an hour-long podcast every week usually with a theme, other times more eclectic. I found this interview in which Richard Serra discusses his retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York to be very enlightening about the show and his work in general.

David Ichioka is a photographer who takes photographs of people sleeping throughout an entire night, in 20 to 30 minute intervals. I knew I moved a lot in bed, but I never realized so many people do, too. In any case, this is a very funny and at the same time interesting series of photographs to look at.

During the 1950s, the U. S. government conducted several experiments in order to understand the effects of LSD, a relatively new psychedelic drug, on the human body and perception. One of these experiments consisted in having an artist draw a subject 9 different times at intervals during an LSD trip, with access to a wide variety of wet and dry media. The artist in question, who remains anonymous in this report, translates his very altered state to paper in a manner that is very illustrative of what he is going through.
