Modern Living:::::La vida moderna

Modern Living is a series of short web animations by dutch digital artist Han Hoogerbrugge. The films represent the individual battles of modern living that at the end become the reason of greatest struggle of personal development in our society. Further, the user gets to manipulate the animation while interpreting its content and its meaning.

Note: On the 49-45 section, the third animation top to bottom titled The Arcade Game, after five attempts I can say that the second victim is imposible to kill. Kids dont try this at home.

Modern Living es una serie de animaciones en la web creadas por el artista digital holandés Han Hoogerbrugge. Las animaciones representan las batallas de la vida diaria que al final representan los más grandes obstáculos del desarrollo personal del individuo. Además, el usuario es el que manipula las animaciones mientras que interpreta su contenido y significado.

Museum of Drug-Traffic:::::Museo del Narco

The Museum of Drug traffic (closed to the public) in Mexico City shows drugs, artifacts that belonged to famous drug traffiquers, their technology and samples of their culture, for militaries aspiring to enter the war against drug traffic in Mexico. Some of the artifacts on display are Osiel Cárdenas‘ gun with a figurine of Jude the Apostole in gold, El Güero Palma’s AK-47 with a carved gold palm, and an engraved door from one of Chapo Guzmán’s houses.

Localizado en la ciudad de México y cerrado al publico, el museo del narco exhibe drogas, pertenencias de narcotraficantes, tecnología, y muestras de cultura para militares que entraran a la guerra contra el narcotráfico en México. Algunos artefactos exhibidos son la pistola de Osiel Cárdenas con San Judas Tadeo grabado en oro, la AK-47 del Güero Palma con una palma de oro y una puerta grabada en madera de una de las casas de el Chapo Guzmán.

Youtube user jaspersquid has uploaded a collection of almost 50 clips in which quicksand makes an appearance swallowing up one of the main characters. Videos range from Mexican soap operas (which we have included here) to the Dukes of Hazard, to Japanese Anime.

Koolhaas Houselife

Filmakers Beka and Louise Lemoine have recently released a film titled Koolhaas Houselife which documents the daily existence of Guadalupe Acedo, a house wife in Rem Koolhaas’s house in Bordeaux (engineered by ARUP/Cecil Balmond). A trailer is available in the website and a DVD will be released soon. It seems promising.

Landings in Tegucigalpa, Honduras ::::: Aterrizajes en Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Tegucigalpa’s Toncontín International Airport has a reputation among pilots for being one of the most dangerous places to land. At 1,863 meters, its single runway is one of the shortest international runways in the world. The biggest plane that can land there is the Boeing 757, and getting there requires flying dangerously close to the mountains. Here we present two videos, one taken from the cockpit of an airliner about to land, and the other from the mountain.

El Aeropuerto Internacional Toncontín, en Tegucigalpa, Honduras, tiene una reputación entre los pilotos por ser uno de los aeropuertos más peligrosos al aterrizar. Con tan solo 1,863 metros, es una de las pistas aéreas internacionales más cortas en el mundo. El avión más grande que puede aterrizar ahí es el Boeing 757, y llegar a la pista requiere volar a muy baja altitud cerca de las montañas. Aquí les presentamos dos vídeos, uno desde la cabina de un avión apunto de aterrizar, y otro desde la montaña.
